Professional Home Energy Diagnostics
Using calibrated blower door equipment and infrared thermal imaging, Draft Detective identifies hidden air leaks, insulation deficiencies, and areas of unwanted heat transfer affecting your home's comfort and efficiency.
Each assessment includes thermal analysis, visual documentation, and a diagnostic report with practical recommendations for improving comfort, reducing drafts, and lowering energy loss.
BLOWER DOOR TEST
A blower door test uses a calibrated, high-powered fan mounted in an exterior doorway to temporarily depressurize the home. This allows hidden air leaks and draft locations to be identified throughout the building envelope, including around windows, doors, attics, basements, and wall penetrations.
THERMAL IMAGING
Infrared thermal imaging is used to visualize temperature differences across surfaces within the home. This helps identify insulation deficiencies, cold spots, thermal bridging, moisture-prone areas, and locations of heat loss that may not be visible during a standard visual inspection.
DIAGNOSTIC REPORT
Following the assessment, a detailed diagnostic report is provided outlining observed problem areas, thermal imaging findings, air leakage concerns, and recommended improvement opportunities. The report includes annotated images and practical recommendations to help improve comfort, efficiency, and overall home performance.
